The theatrical world of WWE seemingly crossed over with the NFL during Thursday night’s Green Bay Packers-Carolina Panthers game.
Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered a chest injury midway through the second quarter after making a 53-yard catch that sent the crowd roaring at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. After Watson hit the ground with the ball in his grasp, Panthers cornerback Will Lee landed on top of him. Both players were hurt on the play.
Christian Watson: Sent to the hospital for fear of a sternoclavicular joint sprain. Similar to last year. More to come. #HalftimeInjuryChat https://t.co/cMXV78fVC2

The departing shot of Watson made his eventual return to Lambeau Field feel even more dramatic. After getting screened at the hospital, Watson was cleared to reenter the game. Amazon showed the moment he stepped out of the ambulance before jogging back onto the field.

Vince McMahon must have secretly taken over for Roger Goodell for a day. The moment genuinely felt like a scripted segment from “Monday Night Raw,” with Watson playing the role of Stone Cold Steve Austin running to the ring.
The Panthers tried to mount a comeback late. A Bryce Young touchdown pass to Jalen Coker made it a 27-19 game with over five minutes left. But the Packers ultimately delivered a stunner late to get the pinfall on their opponents.
