The Carolina Panthers practiced with piped in crowd noise during the week in preparation for the Super Bowl.
Coach Ron Rivera said that there’s no telling if the crowd will be for or against them, so they’re preparing for the eventuality that the stadium will be loud.
“(We) don’t know how the crowd is going to react so we worked the crowd noise on both sides of the ball,” Rivera said, via Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer.
It’s only reasonable that the Panthers should be ready to adapt to what will certainly be a wild environment when they take the field on Super Bowl Sunday. Piping in crowd noise is just one small way to make that happen. Perhaps they can take some notes from the Atlanta Falcons on how to do to it properly.
