The Carolina Panthers could look to beef up their defensive line with a late entry into a free agent sweepstakes.
According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the Panthers have intensifying interest in lineman Gerald McCoy, who was recently released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It is not yet clear whether or not McCoy will visit the team.

McCoy has met with the Cleveland Browns and is also taking a lengthy visit to the Baltimore Ravens. It has been widely expected that he will ultimately sign with one of those two teams, but if the Panthers are serious — especially financially — McCoy will probably end up hearing them out.
