Patrick Mahomes comes up limping after being tackled
The status of Patrick Mahomes is something to watch after he came up limping following a play in the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday.
Mahomes was pressured and threw the ball away on a second down play that preceded an eventual field goal to make it 17-0 KC. On the play, Mahomes was tackled and brought down by his right leg. He came up limping afterwards, something NBC’s announcers focused on.
Mahomes remained in the game and scrambled out of the pocket on third down, though he didn’t look to be at full speed.
As he cleared off the field for the field goal unit, Mahomes continued to show a limp.
Up to that point, Mahomes had looked great in his first playoff start. He was 10/18 for 122 yards and had led three scoring drives.
