Report: Patriots near contract extension with Jonathan Jones
The New England Patriots are locking down a key member of their defense.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Patriots are closing in on a contract extension with cornerback Jonathan Jones. The deal will be for three years.

Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Auburn, really started to break out in 2018. The 25-year-old had 56 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three interceptions for New England, playing in all 16 games. You need only look at one of the flashy plays he made to realize that he’s still growing into a larger role as a key part of the New England defense.
