Pete Carroll admits Seahawks have discussed trading Richard Sherman
Perhaps those rumors about the Seattle Seahawks trading Richard Sherman aren’t as far-fetched as many of us initially believed.
Speaking at the NFL owners’ meetings in Phoenix on Wednesday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll admitted that the team has received trade inquiries involving Sherman. While he said he doesn’t see Sherman being moved, Carroll went as far as to say Seattle has discussed the possibility.
Carroll acknowledges teams have called about trading for Richard Sherman and #Seahawks have talked about it. Doesn't see it happening though

Carroll’s remarks echoed the ones made by Seahawks general manager John Schneider the day before.
Asked about Richard Sherman trade rumors, Schneider said team listens to many trade proposals every year and "98 percent'' never happen.

Does that mean Sherman is going to be dealt? No, but it’s pretty clear the Seahawks have not ruled it out. Trading the best player on the best defense in the NFL would have seemed asinine a few years ago, but Sherman has two years left on his four-year, $56 million deal. He’ll turn 31 shortly after the contract expires and will likely look to become the highest-paid cornerback in football, so Perhaps the Seahawks know there is a chance they will not be able to afford the four-time Pro Bowler.
Sherman played through an injury last year that actually became a topic of controversy, but he is expected to be fully healthy for the start of training camp. If the Seahawks struggle for some reason in 2017, the trade rumors involving Sherman may become even louder.
