Sorry, folks, but Peyton Manning reportedly has no intention of pulling a Brett Favre.
A source told ProFootballTalk via Zac Jackson that Manning has no interest in returning to the league.
It’s rather surprising that this even had to come up, but after Teddy Bridgewater’s injury on Tuesday, the questions were apparently asked. Manning, however, is not an option for Minnesota as a short-term fix.
In fairness, people do ask about a return a lot, according to Manning’s father. With a high-profile quarterback job opening up so close to the start of the season, those questions probably picked right up again. It’s not happening, though. Manning sounds as finished as it gets, and unlike Favre, he doesn’t seem the type to waver on that decision.
