Report: Police called to gym altercation involving Richie Incognito

Richie Incognito

Richie Incognito has had somewhat of an eventful offseason, but the issues he has had with the Buffalo Bills sound tame compared to what went down at a gym he was working out at this week.

TMZ reports that Incognito was involved in an altercation with another man at a gym in Florida, and police were called to the scene. The alleged victim told officers Incognito threw a tennis ball at him and then heaved a dumbbell in his direction over what sounds like a dispute about politics. The man stated that Incognito was ranting about the government and screamed at him to “get off my f—ing playground.”

Incognito was taken away from the gym by police, but it’s unclear if he was arrested.

Last month, Incognito said he has decided to retire from football because of the physical and mental toll the game has taken on him. However, the four-time Pro Bowler was released by the Bills earlier this week after he reportedly told the team he wants to play elsewhere in 2018.

Incognito, of course, was at the center of the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal a few years back. That situation found its way back into the news earlier this offseason when Martin was arrested for threatening Incognito and others in a disturbing social media post.
