Rams have shown interest in Jordan Reed

Jordan Reed could prove to be a bargain for the team that signs him this offseason if he can somehow manage to stay on the field in 2020, and the Los Angeles Rams are reportedly interested in the veteran tight end.

The Rams have reached out to Reed about possibly signing him, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports.

Rams have spoken to former Washington TE Jordan Reed about a potential signing, per source. Reed is training in Miami and still wants to play.

Reed was released by the Washington Redskins earlier this offseason. The former third-round pick has had seemingly endless potential since he was drafted in 2013, but he has never managed to get through a full season. He didn’t play at all last season after suffering a concussion in the preseason. Reed has had numerous concussions throughout his career. He caught 54 passes for 558 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.

The Rams have two solid tight ends on their roster in Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee. The latter broke out down the stretch and likely has the starting job locked down heading into 2020, but Everett could be traded or cut this summer.

Reed is a risky addition considering one more concussion could probably end his career.
