Rashee Rice is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Dacoda Jones, Rice’s ex-girlfriend, made some very disturbing allegations against the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver in a post to Instagram on Wednesday. Jones, who is also the mother of Rice’s two children, accused Rice of “abuse for years” and said her life had been “nothing but hell” since she broke up with Rice a couple of months ago.
In the post, Jones accused Rice of “put[ting] his hands on me” while she was pregnant, locking her outside of their home in 10-degree weather, and “cutting up” her clothes and shoes (in addition to “multiple instances” of supposed cheating). Jones also shared several troubling photos of her injuries and damage to property that allegedly came at the hands of Rice.
You can see Jones’ full post at the link here (but beware that the content is graphic).
While the post did not mention Rice by name, the situation was serious enough that the Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday. “The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League,” said the Chiefs. “We have no further comment at this time.”
Rice, 25, just completed his third career season with the Chiefs, catching 78 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns through eight games. But the part of the reason why Rice played so few games was that he was suspended by the NFL for six games due to his various legal issues.
The most notable of those legal issues was Rice’s 2024 hit-and-run incident during which he allegedly caused multiple injuries by driving 119 mph in his Lamborghini while racing another car (with Rice ultimately pleading guilty to two felony charges and being sentenced to jail time). Now Rice is under scrutiny once again for another disturbing off-the-field situation.
