Odell Beckham Jr’s contract situation may end up getting resolved in a major way.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported on Thursday that Beckham and the New York Giants are making progress on what could be a record-breaking deal for a wide receiver. He says the deal could even be completed by the start of the season.
Beckham’s contract status has been a big topic over the past year. He’s been seeking an extension since he’s in the final year of his contract, making $8.45 million in 2018.
Beckham is arguably the best wide receiver in the league. A contract that paid him accordingly would give him around the $17 million per season Antonio Brown is making.
The former No. 12 pick out of LSU is looking to bounce back from an ankle injury that limited him to four games last season. Odell has 38 touchdown catches in 47 career games.
