Rex Burkhead, Patrick Chung out for Patriots’ Week 5 game
The New England Patriots will be without several regulars for their Week 5 game against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Running back Rex Burkhead and defensive backs Patrick Chung and Nate Ebner were all downgraded to out for the game.
Burkhead has been dealing with a foot injury and barely played in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills, going without a carry. Chung has a heel injury and Ebner, a top special teams player, has a groin injury.
The Patriots have been deadline with some injuries to players. Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon have been limited at practice during the week due to injuries. Benjamin Watson’s suspension is up but he won’t be active for the game.
James White and Sony Michel will likely continue to see big roles with Burkhead out.
