New York Jets owner Woody Johnson announced on Sunday what the team should have announced a long time ago: Rex Ryan will be back as the team’s head coach in 2014.
“We’re going to keep Rex Ryan and he’s going to be our coach next year,” Johnson said via Manish Mehta.
The Jets eliminated the Miami Dolphins from the playoffs with a 20-7 road win in Week 17. They somehow finished 8-8 on the season. When you look at the team they have and the lack of talent, it’s nothing short of stunning that they won eight games.
Ryan deserves serious consideration for coach of the year with the job he did. He definitely deserved to be back next season.
