It’s not often that we see a player get involved in a meme mocking another team, but that was the case for Ricardo Lockette.
Lockette, who is a wide receiver for Seattle but was placed on injured reserve in November with a neck injury, posted a Steve Harvey meme on Instagram Sunday following the Vikings’ missed field goal in the NFC playoffs.
Harvey’s face has become a meme and is used in situations where one outcome was announced but later changed due to an error (because of this). The Vikings were fully expected to beat the Seahawks after setting up for a chip shot 27-yard field goal in the final minute of the game. Many figured Blair Walsh, who was 3-of-3 on field goals earlier in the game, would nail the easy one, especially after he made one from 47 yards. But Walsh shanked the kick, and the result was Seattle stealing the game away from Minnesota, much like the way Harvey’s blunder led to Miss Colombia losing the Miss Universe crown.
