Richard Sherman sends cryptic tweet after Seahawks release

Richard Sherman

The Seattle Seahawks have decided to part ways with Richard Sherman, and the All-Pro cornerback clearly feels he has plenty left to offer some other team.

Sherman was informed by the Seahawks on Friday that he is being released, and it would seem as though he does not agree with the decision. Shortly after word surfaced that he will become a free agent, Sherman sent the following tweet:

The Seahawks have made a lot of changes this offseason and are looking to get younger and less expensive on defense. Sherman will turn 30 this month, is coming off a season-ending Achilles injury and was set to count more than $13 million against the salary cap in 2018.

Seattle has already traded Michael Bennett — possibly for reasons beyond football — to the Philadelphia Eagles and will likely make more changes. Assuming he is healthy, Sherman should have no shortage of suitors on the open market.
