Video: Ricky Walker becomes first XFL ejection after throwing punch
The XFL has promised to be more fun and lenient than the NFL in applying its rules, but as Ricky Walker found out, throwing punches will get you ejected from any league you’re in.
Tampa Bay Vipers defensive lineman Ricky Walker became the first ejection in this iteration of the XFL’s history after punching New York Guardians offensive lineman Ian Silberman during Sunday’s game.

This is a pretty easy one. The XFL may embrace bigger hits and physical play, but if you throw a punch, you’re out.
In truth, the league has played a solid and clean game so far in its debut weekend. There have definitely been some hiccups, but by and large, it’s been a pretty entertaining product. We’ll see if that’s enough for football fans to stick with it.
