Robert Griffin III sent one of the more interesting tweets during the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
RG3 shared his thoughts on the Washington Redskins taking Dwayne Haskins with the No. 15 overall pick. He advised the Redskins to be patient with their future franchise QB.
You didn’t draft the young man for nothing. You did it because you believe in the young man. You did it because you need a Quarterback. Don’t give up on him prematurely. He is your investment. Give the kid time to prove himself. Congrats young gun!!! Enjoy every second of it!

There seems to be a lot going on with that tweet. On one hand, he’s giving advice to Washington in their handling of Haskins. On the other, he seems to be suggesting that the team gave up on him.
The Redskins gave up two future first-round picks and a second to move up in the draft to take RG3 No. 2 overall in 2012. The move seemed to pay off at first as he had a brilliant rookie season and led them to the playoffs and was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. But then he hurt his knee playing on it while it was already weak. He did not fare well in 2013 as he rushed back from injury, got hurt in 2014, and the Redskins moved on to Kirk Cousins.
RG3 low-key seems to still be salty over the way things went in Washington. He has never come close to replicating the success he enjoyed as a rookie.
