Those attending the second day of the NFL Draft were treated to an odd moment when commissioner Roger Goodell announced a fake draft pick.
During a break, Goodell came out on stage to announce a first overall pick for the Cleveland Browns. The crowd in Pittsburgh was told the pick was being filmed for an unidentified scripted program.

The fake Ohio State quarterback did not get much of a reaction, but presumably that will be addressed in post-production.
While we do not know exactly which production this was filmed for, Matt Yoder of Awful Announcing suggested it may be an upcoming Hulu series titled “The Land.” It is slated to star William H. Macy as the owner of an NFL team based on the Browns, though it appears that the show ultimately got the full backing of the league.
Those watching at home did not see this moment on television, though they apparently will get the chance at some point. Either way, it looks like Goodell will be getting another acting credit for his resume.
