Saints claim their bus was egged at Atlanta airport

The New Orleans Saints traveled to Atlanta on Wednesday night to prepare for their Thursday night game against the NFC South-leading Falcons, and they received an unpleasant welcome from the city’s airport workers.

According to several tweets from Saints players, some Atlanta airport workers threw eggs at New Orleans’ team bus.

From backup quarterback Chase Daniel:

Wow, as we’re boarding buses on the Tarmac @ Atlanta airport, we start getting eggs thrown @ us by airport workers! Guess they do hate us!

— Chase Daniel (@ChaseDaniel) November 29, 2012

Tight end Jimmy Graham didn’t appreciate it:

Bus just got egged after landing in ATL by the ramp workers. Classy! “RISE Up” smh

— Jimmy Graham (@TheJimmyGraham) November 29, 2012

Linebacker Will Herring told the same story:

First time my bus has been egged by opposing fans! Tomorrow should be fun!!#WhoDatNation

— Will Herring (@wherring54) November 29, 2012

But wide receiver Joseph Morgan didn’t even mind their actions:

How do eggs make people mad? Cool and hilarious prank #childhood #memories

— Joseph Morgan(@jmthegreat) November 29, 2012

He even added that if he scores a touchdown, he might turn the eggs into a celebration somehow:

#Scrambledeggs RT @saintmitch30: @jmthegreat when You get in the endzone what dance you doing #cinnamonchallengedance?

— Joseph Morgan(@jmthegreat) November 29, 2012

The rivalry between the two teams has been heightened for the past few seasons, and it is especially strong this year after the Saints ruined Atlanta’s bid at a perfect season by handing them their only loss.

After New Orleans’ 31-27 win in Week 10, some Saints players said the Falcons were “classless” in their pregame behavior. Additionally, Falcons WR Roddy White ripped the Saints over Twitter a few years ago, and reiterated his stance about New Orleans this season saying he hates everything about the city and team.

If that’s what the airport workers are doing to the Saints, I’d be afraid to eat any meal I was served in Atlanta if I were one of their players. Thursday night’s game should be a good one.
