Scot McCloughan a possible candidate to replace Doug Whaley?
The Buffalo Bills announced on Sunday that they have dismissed general manager Doug Whaley. Owners Terry and Kim Pegula said in a statement that the decision was theirs alone and that they are looking forward to hiring their first GM since they took over the team.
Would Scot McCloughan make sense as a replacement? NFL reporter Benjamin Albright said the rumors are already popping up.

According to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News, the Bills have also fired their entire scouting staff. That’s why the McCloughan rumor makes some sense.
McCloughan was fired by Washington earlier this offseason amid rumors that he was struggling with alcohol relapses. However, one of McCloughan’s former players said a few weeks back that alcohol is no longer an issue. McCloughan is widely regarded as a fantastic evaluator of talent, and he has even resumed running his scouting service and has been providing information to NFL teams since being fired.
If his affairs are truly in order outside of work, McCloughan would be a great addition in Buffalo.
