SNL zings Jets with Super Bowl joke
There’s never a bad time for a New York Jets joke. Even “Saturday Night Live” got in on the fun this weekend.
It was a sporty episode with UFC star Ronda Rousey hosting, so Michael Che decided to keep with the sports theme during the Weekend Update.
The anchor was doing a story on some black celebrities boycotting the Oscars when he got in the zinger. He particularly was taking exception to the term “boycott.”
“You know boycott is a very strong word for not attending a party you were never invited to. That’s like the Jets boycotting the Super Bowl. Let’s not say ‘boycotting’; let’s just say “took the hint.”
Ouch.
First Donald Trump zings the Jets, and now SNL does it.
Chin up, Jets fans. We know it stinks being a punching bag after losing to the Bills in Week 17 with the postseason on the line, but that 10-6 record would have been good enough to win two divisions this season. Unfortunately more wins are needed when you’re in the same division as the Patriots.
