Steelers’ Mike Adams stabbed trying to stop car jacking
Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Mike Adams was stabbed early Saturday while trying to stop a car jacking at his home.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette reports that three or four men tried to steal Adams’ truck from his South Side home. According to the lineman’s agent, Adams was stabbed by one of the assailants during a confrontation. He reportedly tried chasing the alleged thieves even while injured.
Adams had surgery for the stab wound. None of his vital organs were affected. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks of football.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning,” Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said, via the team’s website. “We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery.”
Adams tweeted about recovering from the incident:
