Steelers sign LB Vince Williams to four-year extension
The Pittsburgh Steelers may not have been able to come to a long-term agreement with star running back Le’Veon Bell, but they are still spending money in advance of the 2018 regular season.
On Thursday, the Steelers announced that they have signed linebacker Vince Williams to a four-year extension. The new deal runs through the 2021 season and is reportedly worth around $20 million.
It’s a 4-year new deal worth more than $20M, source said. So, more than $6M per year on his three years the team tacked on. https://t.co/mMDgRuV9Ge

Williams, a sixth-round pick in 2013, had a career-high eight sacks and 89 total tackles last season. He has been a key piece of a Steelers’ defensive front that has had to replace departed players like James Harrison and Ryan Shazier, who is still recovering from a spinal injury.
Williams was the second player the Steelers signed to a four-year extension on Thursday, and you have to wonder how Bell feels about all the money the team is throwing around.
