Stephen Jones thinks Josh Brown’s suspension is connected to Ezekiel Elliott
The NFL on Friday handed Josh Brown a new six-game suspension, and one Dallas Cowboys executive think that decision is related to what happened with Ezekiel Elliott.
Brown, who is a free agent kicker, was suspended just one game last season despite admitting to abusing his now ex-wife. The league’s seeming impunity led to great public backlash.
So why did the NFL decide to suspend Brown, who is unsigned, for six games under the Personal Conduct Policy? Cowboys COO Stephen Jones thinks the decision relates to the Ezekiel Elliott punishment.

It’s hard not to draw the same conclusion to which Jones is hinting. Elliott denied all allegations from his ex-girlfriend, while Brown says he told the NFL everything that happened with his wife. It seems like the NFL is trying to avoid making it seem like they are targeting Elliott by giving this new suspension to Brown.
