Steve Smith taking girl with autism to her prom

Steve Smith

Steve Smith will be helping make a teenager’s dream come true by taking her to prom.

A few weeks ago Smith asked 18-year-old Aubrey Bridges to her high school prom via video. Bridges, whose family are huge Carolina Panthers fans, happily accepted and danced around her house, according to the Gaston Gazette.

Smith asked Bridges after things were arranged through the Dream On 3 organization, which helps connects kids with their favorite athletes or teams. Bridges has autism and a disorder called Vein of Galen Malformation, which is an aneurysm which developed in her brain. Smith formerly was a star receiver for the Panthers before being cut by the team after the 2013 season.

You can see the video of Smith asking Bridges in this video:

Look who just asked Dream Kid Aubrey if he could take her to the prom! Dream Kid Aubrey's smile says it all as she uses a communication device to give her answer…Aubrey, who is also one of #MollysKids, lives with #autism and was referred to us by The Arc of North Carolina.
