New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford did his job for the most part during Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He punted five times and averaged 54.6 yards — his best work of the season since Week 1.
On Monday morning, Weatherford received a love letter from the NFL league office. After booting two punts of more than 65 yards against Dallas, Weatherford was notified that he would be randomly drug tested and had to submit a urine sample by 12:30 p.m on Monday. The 30-year-old obviously was not buying that the test was random.
This is how I'm greeted when I get 2 work today. Two 65+ punts and now U wanna test me? Random? Hmm… pic.twitter.com/EmN1yANEZB

Personally, I think Weatherford is flattering himself a little. If he was trying to be as funny as Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was earlier this year, it didn’t work. McAfee was drug tested after laying someone out. That’s a little different than booting a few long punts.
