Tedy Bruschi may be accused of being a Patriots homer, but that did not seem to be the case regarding his opinion on Chandler Jones.
Jones was taken to the hospital Sunday morning after going to the Foxboro police station following a bad synthetic marijuana experience, according to reports. He has not missed practice or meetings, but he did apologize Thursday for making a “stupid mistake.”
Bruschi, who played his entire career with the Patriots and won three Super Bowls with the team, said on “NFL Live” on ESPN Thursday that Bill Belichick should punish Jones by sitting him down.
Belichick has been known to discipline a player by benching him to start a game, like he once did with Wes Welker. So it is possible for him to do the same for Jones. But why would the punishment come? For serving as a distraction to the team? For doing something stupid? It’s hard to imagine him punishing the team for what Jones did.
