Tom Brady dismisses Josh McDaniels report as ‘nonsense’

Tom Brady

Tom Brady on Monday night dismissed a report suggesting there was friction between him and Josh McDaniels as “nonsense.”

New York Daily News reporter Gary Myers said earlier Monday that Brady had a deteriorating relationship with McDaniels. The supposed relationship issues contributed to Brady being ready to leave New England after last season, Myers says.

But Brady says that is not true.

Brady, who signed with Tampa Bay in March, posted a screenshot of the Pro Football Talk article on his Instagram Story and called the report “nonsense.”

Maybe Brady had some issues with McDaniels, who was his offensive coordinator on the Patriots, at times over the years. That would be natural. But Brady’s decision to leave was probably due to a confluence of factors.

Brady probably wanted a new challenge, wanted more love and money than the Patriots were willing to give him, and was ready to move on. Any possible issues with McDaniels were probably secondary factors in the decision to leave.
