NFL legend Tom Brady and WWE superstar Logan Paul have ignited a lively debate on athletic prowess, trading barbs ahead of their participation in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia on March 21.
The exchange, which unfolded on the Impaulsive podcast and spilled onto social media, highlights contrasting views: Brady downplays WWE’s demands compared to the NFL’s elite competition, while Paul argues wrestling’s unique athletic requirements surpass football’s.
During the podcast, Paul boasted about his athletic level, interrupting Brady to defend his credentials.
“I am the highest level,” Paul declared. “I am the level.”
He challenged comparisons to NFL stars, asking, “Bro, can Saquon Barkley do a flip off the top rope? A 180 move off the top rope?”
Paul later escalated in interviews, claiming most NFL athletes would struggle in WWE.
“If you plucked 99 percent of NFL athletes from a team and put them in a WWE ring, they would s–t the bed,” he said. “They would not be able to do it, and that’s on God. It’s the hardest thing in the world to do.”
Brady, unimpressed, countered by emphasizing NFL superiority.
“You’re a good athlete, but these guys are another level,” he told Paul, referencing stars like Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr., and Justin Jefferson. “You’re not the level.”
Brady dismissed WWE feats as entertaining but less rigorous.
“That’s cute. I love the WWE. It’s very cute. But honestly, this is like real football with real competition,” he said.
Brady reinforced his stance on social media.
The feud even drew commentary from WWE’s Paul Heyman, who playfully challenged Brady to face Paul at WrestleMania.
This back-and-forth underscores a classic crossover clash. While Paul questions NFL athleticism, Brady’s point echoes the successes of ex-NFL players like Bill Goldberg, Steve McMichael and Brock Lesnar in wrestling, and Lawrence Taylor’s standout WrestleMania XI performance proves football talent can translate.
The debate adds hype to the upcoming flag football event, where “real competition” will test both sides.
