Tom Brady sparks speculation with latest retirement comments
Tom Brady’s latest remarks on his post-retirement plans are sure to spark more speculation that a comeback could be on the cards.
Brady appeared on pro golfer Fred Couples’ SiriusXM radio show Tuesday and was asked about his future plans. His response was certainly eyebrow-raising.
“I wish I had a clear vision of what the future holds, but I think for me, there’s a lot of great things and a lot of great opportunities that I know I said right after football season I was looking forward to spending time with my family,” Brady said, via Greg Auman of The Athletic. “And I’ve done that the last five weeks. And I know there’ll be a lot more of that, too. So, you know, I like staying busy, that’s for sure.”
Brady said he was visiting his parents this week, and then intriguingly closed by saying “we’ll figure out where we go from there.”
That certainly lacks the finality of a full retirement announcement. Quotes like this, along with his former team openly suggesting they’ll leave the door open for him, only fuels comeback speculation.
Of course, Brady does have some other non-football plans lined up. He could just be teasing us all, but he sounds like he’s leaving the possibility of playing again open as well.
