Troy Aikman has ultimate response to Patrick Mahomes comparison
Troy Aikman had the ultimate response to a Patrick Mahomes comparison from a media outlet.
On Monday, The Athletic Kansas City promoted a podcast talking up Mahomes by pointing out how the young Chiefs quarterback already has passed for a third the touchdowns of Aikman, and only in eight percent of the games.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, who won three Super Bowls, dropped his rings on the table for The Athletic and Mahomes.

To be clear, Aikman isn’t against Mahomes. He just doesn’t like a media outlet using his stats as a benchmark to diminish him.
The era in which Aikman played is totally different from the current era. Now you can’t touch quarterbacks or wide receivers without getting a flag. Back when Aikman played and before, much more contact was allowed, which made it a lot harder to beef up passing stats. Throwing for 3,000 yards in a season actually was a big milestone. Now you better be throwing for 4,000 or you’re not having a decent year.
Between this and his previous tweet that went viral, we love this version of Aikman dominating on social media.
