USC Trojans wide receiver Jaden Richardson wasn’t going to leave 2025 without making a late submission for catch of the year.
On Thursday, Richardson went viral for his sensational grab in the end zone in the second half of USC’s Valero Alamo Bowl matchup against the TCU Horned Frogs at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
With 57 seconds left in the third quarter and the Trojans on a 3rd-and-8, USC quarterback Jayden Maiava got the snap and looked in the direction of Richardson, who was racing to the end zone while being covered by TCU cornerback Channing Canada.
Richardson was tightly defended by Canada and appeared to be running out of space, but it didn’t matter as he hauled in a one-handed touchdown catch. He got his right foot inbounds before falling to the ground with the ball clearly in his possession.
Here is the video of how it all went down:

Interestingly enough, that was the senior wideout’s first catch in two seasons with USC. He finished the contest with 31 receiving yards and that crazy TD on 2 receptions.
Unfortunately for Richardson and the Trojans, TCU got the last laugh. The Horned Frogs won in overtime after running back Jeremy Payne took a short pass and fought through multiple defenders for the walk-off touchdown that gave the Horned Frogs the 30-27 victory.
The Trojans end their 2025 season with an overall 9-4 record and without a bowl win for the first time since Lincoln Riley’s first year with the program in 2022.
