Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips appears to be just fine after a frightening collision over the weekend, and his sense of humor remains fully intact.
Phillips sent a tweet on Monday thanking everyone for their concern. He also gave himself the “big hit award” for being leveled by San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon.
Thanks and I appreciate everyone's concern -I am ok today and back to work at what I love –I get the big hit award for the week!

That’s terrific news, as Phillips was taken off the field in a stretcher during his team’s win over the Chargers. The 69-year-old was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and later released. You can see a video of the play here.
We’re all glad to hear Phillips is doing well.
