What did Colin Kaepernick say? Video emerges

Colin Kaepernick was penalized during the 49ers’ loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday night for using inappropriate language towards Bears defender Lamarr Houston.

On Monday, Kaepernick expressed surprise over the penalty, insisting he did not say anything inappropriate. The league instituted a new rule during the offseason which allows referees to call penalties on players for using slurs such as the N-word or homosexual slurs. Kaepernick insisted he did nothing of the sort.

I’m not the best lip reader so I can’t tell you what Kaepernick said, but he definitely said something to Houston.

Though Houston stuck up for Kaepernick and said the quarterback didn’t say anything, referee Laird Hayes told CSN Bay Area Monday that Kaepernick “knows what he said.”

Kaepernick plans to appeal the $11,000 fine he received for the penalty.
