Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue wants a new contract, and he won’t be reporting to the team’s mandatory minicamp without it.
Ngakoue said in a statement Monday that, while he remains committed to Jacksonville and hopes to remain with the organization, he will not attend minicamp without a new contract.
Statement from Jaguars’ DE Yannick Ngakoue: “I will not be attending minicamp as my contract has not been resolved. I remain committed to Jacksonville, the fans and my teammates. My hope is to be with Jacksonville for years to come.”

There is no indication from Ngakoue what his plans are if things are not resolved by training camp. The Jaguars would be well-served in dealing with it, as they’re already down a key part of their defense for 2019.
Ngakoue has racked up 29.5 sacks in his first three NFL seasons. He is entering the final year of his rookie deal.
