Dustin Johnson got great free drop at U.S. Open (Video)
Dustin Johnson caught a huge break during the final round of the U.S. Open on Sunday when he was allowed to take a free drop on a tee ball that ended up in the rough.
After he hooked a shot into the incredibly thick rough at the 10th hole, Johnson realized that a camera tower was between him and the green he was shooting at. Because the tower constitutes a temporary immovable object (TIO), Johnson was allowed free relief. He got to drop his ball almost near the fairway.
It was a huge break after a bad shot, and you know what Johnson ended up doing? He hit his shot directly over the tower anyway. Watch:

Two holes later, Johnson was approached about another bizarre rule situation involving his putt on the fifth green. It sounds like he’s going to be penalized a stroke after his ball moved before he addressed it with his putter. You can read more about that here.
