FOX apologizes for sex talk that made it on air during US Open

FOX US Open

FOX apologized on Friday after some sex talk made it onto the air during the network’s telecast of the US Open Friday at Shinnecock Hills.

FOX announcer Joe Buck was talking about Patrick Reed when some audio came across the FS1 feed of two men talking about sex in inappropriate terms.

A FOX spokesperson apologized and told Sporting News that the audio came from fans in the gallery.

“Today, during the live FS1 broadcast of the 2018 U.S. Open, one of the many microphones on the course inadvertently picked up some offensive crowd chatter. We sincerely apologize,” Fox Sports spokeswoman Anne Pennington said in a statement to Sporting News.

That wasn’t the only audio issue the channel experienced. FS1 also lost audio for about 15 minutes during their coverage of the second round of the major.

This is probably the only time FOX was hoping not too many viewers were watching. Well, that, and also during their technical issues at the World Series.
