Johnny Miller jabs golfers who skipped Olympics
Golf made its first appearance at the Olympics since 1904 in Rio de Janeiro. The men’s competition wrapped up on Sunday with Justin Rose winning the gold and, after the event, NBC’s Johnny Miller delivered a jab at those who decided to skip the games.
Leading up to the Rio Olympics, one of the prominent topics of discussion was the Zika virus which, of course, is carried by mosquitoes. Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy were among those to withdraw, citing health concerns. Well, Miller took the opportunity to let everyone know he didn’t see any mosquitoes.

Ouch. Miller also had praise for golf’s return to the Olympics, saying it will one day be seen as an equal event to one of the majors.
It was great. As Johnny Miller said "this will soon be the 5th major". Rory, Day and Spieth blew it. Bad look. https://t.co/1tKvzLZlIs

Prior to this year’s Olympics, there was plenty of talk if golf should have been included. However, Sunday’s dramatic finish, that saw Rose birdie on the 72nd hole, was a welcomed moment for the sport. The men who didn’t attend may or may not end up regretting their decision. The good thing for the sport is it put on a good show in their absence.
