Scottie Scheffler memes were out of control after his arrest
The Scottie Scheffler memes were absolutely out of control following his arrest.
Scheffler was arrested Friday morning while attempting to enter Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. to play his second round of the PGA Championship. Police were redirecting traffic after a pedestrian was struck by a passenger shuttle and killed. Scheffler was unaware of what had happened and was trying to enter the golf club despite being redirected by police. He ended up dragging a police officer who was hanging on to the golfer’s car about 10 yards.
Scheffler was arrested for his perceived defiance, taken to jail, and is facing four charges including reckless driving, criminal mischief, and second degree assault of a police officer (a felony).
Scheffler was arrested at 6:01 AM ET and still made his tee time. He shot a 5-under 66, which has him in contention for the lead.
The entire turn of events left fans buzzing.

Fans were having fun with it too:
After his arrest, Scottie Scheffler had fans chanting "Free Scottie." Others wore T-shirts that read "Free Scottie," and some wore orange jumpsuits. Another fan wore a T-shirt with Scheffler's mug shot. See how people voice their support at Valhalla. https://t.co/FPWMo66MT5
