Blues players, fans furious after Sharks win on hand pass goal
St Louis Blues fans and players were furious after the San Jose Sharks won Game 3 of the Western Conference final on Wednesday night with the help of an illegal hand pass.
The Sharks won 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Erik Karlsson. Karlsson received a pass from Gustav Nyquist to set up the goal. But preceding that was a hand pass from Timo Meier.

Such a play is not reviewable, which is why the game ended on the goal. Blues center Brayden Schenn slammed his stick against the glass in anger, as did goalie Jordan Binnington.

Blues fans were so upset that they throw stuff onto the ice:
Binnington smashes his stick into the glass. Goes to meet the officials as they are trying to leave the ice. Fans throwing junk onto the ice. Blues throwing their sticks. Beers flying. #STLBlues

As if the Sharks getting a critical 2-1 series lead weren’t enough, fans are especially upset that San Jose continues to benefit from bad calls in the playoffs. They also benefited from the bad Cody Eakin call in Game 7 against Vegas, a call the league apologized for. Then there was the offside call that helped them in Game 7 against the Avalanche. And now this.
