Caps’ Brooks Orpik leaves game after hitting head on ice
Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik exited Wednesday night’s Stanley Cup rematch against the Vegas Golden Knights after hitting his head on the ice.
Orpik was checked into the boards by William Carrier in the first period of the game. He landed hard on the ice, hitting his arm and head.

Orpik went into the tunnel after the hit.
Devante Smith-Pelly stepped in afterwards to show his displeasure with the hit, taking over a role typically held by the suspended Tom Wilson.
