Evander Kane reportedly investigated for sex offense
Buffalo Sabres winger Evander Kane is the subject of a sex offense investigation, according to The Buffalo News.
The allegation stems from an incident that allegedly occurred at a downtown hotel in Buffalo early Sunday morning. Kane was not at the team’s practice Sunday, while The News says the locker room stayed closed after practice for longer than usual.
Kane has retained an attorney, but his legal representative had no comment when contacted by the newspaper. Neither the Sabres nor Kane’s agent have commented either.
The attorney retained by Kane reportedly is the same one who represented the Chicago Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane, who eventually had his sexual offense allegations dropped and was not charged.
Kane has 13 points in 25 games for the Sabres this season.
