John Tavares’ meeting schedule taking shape
There is no guarantee that John Tavares leaves the New York Islanders, but he certainly will be doing his due diligence in hearing what other teams have to offer him.
Tavares is set to take advantage of the pre-free agency interview period by meeting with several teams this week. According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Tavares will meet with the San Jose Sharks and Boston Bruins on Tuesday, and the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars on Wednesday.
San Jose and Boston will present to John Tavares tomorrow in LA. The Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars will deliver their pitch on Wed.

Tavares is also set to meet with the Toronto Maple Leafs and his Islanders.
Last season, the 27-year-old center topped 80 points in the regular season for the third time in his career. Still in his prime, Tavares is in line to make around $12 million per season. The Isles’ new general manager has said he is not disappointed or discouraged by Tavares’ plans to meet with other teams.
