John Tortorella did not appreciate ‘stupid questions’ after Game 5 loss
John Tortorella was not in the mood for “stupid questions” after his Columbus Blue Jackets lost in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.
The Blue Jackets lost 4-3 in Boston to fall behind 3-2 in the series — a big turning point. He was in a foul mood at his postgame press conference and was giving terse responses.
One reporter asked him what kind of lift it gave Boston to score the first goal of the game, which led Tortorella to say he didn’t want to hear stupid questions like that.

Answering questions even after defeats is part of the job for a head coach. Unfortunately some of those questions won’t be the most compelling, as Torts found out. He’s a lot more fun after wins.
Game 6 of the series will be on Monday in Columbus with Tortorella’s Blue Jackets facing elimination.
