Mitchell Skiba, junior hockey player, nearly takes own head off (Video)

You will never see a hockey player do anything more embarrassing than this — that we can promise you.

Earlier this week, junior hockey player Mitchell Skiba of the Alpena Flyers nearly took his own head off with his stick. As Pete Blackburn of Next Impulse Sports notes, Skiba was given a game misconduct for spearing during a game against the MC Monarchs. He was forced to leave the ice, and he humiliated himself in the process.

As Skiba was heading to the locker room, he banged his stick against the glass. This was the end result:

The stick got caught in the doorway and nailed poor Mitchell right in the throat. He went down like a sack of potatoes, but he hopped right up and pretended nothing happened. I guess that’s the only way to play it in a situation like that.
