PK Subban guarantees Predators will force Game 7 against Jets

PK Subban

The Nashville Predators put themselves in a challenging spot by dropping Game 5 at home against the Winnipeg Jets, but veteran defenseman PK Subban is not concerned with his team now trailing 3-2 in the series.

Following Saturday’s 6-2 loss, Subban guaranteed that the Predators are going to win in Winnipeg on Monday to force a rubber game in Nashville.

“We’re going to wake up in the morning, and that page is going to be turned. We’re gonna go to Winnipeg. We’re gonna win a game,” Subban told reporters, via ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe. “We’re going to come back here. It’s that simple.”

Subban’s track record of promising a win is pretty solid, as he also said there was “no question” the Predators were going to win Game 3 in last year’s Stanley Cup Finals after they lost their first two games against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Nashville won the next two to tie the series before eventually losing 4-2.

“We’re a character group. We have a ton of experience in here. We’ve had our backs against the wall before,” Subban said. “Like I said, we’re going to go to Winnipeg. We’re going to win a game, and we’re going to come back here. Every single guy in here believes that.”

If Subban’s prediction ends up coming to fruition, hopefully all fans check their tickets for Game 7 to avoid a situation like we saw last year. Playoff experience should help the Predators, but they need to play infinitely better on Monday than they did on Saturday night.
