St. Louis newspaper accidentally runs ads congratulating Blues on Stanley Cup
The St. Louis Blues can clinch the Stanley Cup on Sunday night, but one local newspaper got a bit ahead of themselves in preparing for the celebration.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch accidentally revealed a few ad pages in their subscriber-only e-edition celebrating the team’s triumph, including a congratulatory letter from team chairman Tom Stillman.

The paper quickly apologized on Twitter for the error.
In preparation for the outcome of the Stanley Cup Final, some of our readers got a sneak peek at what our advertisers are hoping to say to the Blues, the fans and St. Louis. We apologize for the sneak peek and hope to share their messages with everyone very soon!

It’s an understandable error, as these things have to be put together beforehand to be run immediately after a championship is won. Still, we’ve seen how something like this can turn into a jinx, and it’s a fair bet that some Blues fans will turn their ire toward the Post-Dispatch if the team can’t bring it home.
