Predators rookie forward Craig Smith missed a wide open shot on an empty net at the end of Thursday’s Nashville-Toronto game. The guy was all alone and had nobody in front of him, yet he still missed. Everyone was so sure he had scored on the empty net that the score graphic on TV made it 4-1 instead of 3-1. Smith says he’s embarrassed about the whiff, but his coach believes it will be a good learning experience for him. Here’s a video of the blunder:
Smith still has 14 points through 18 games, so the rookie shouldn’t let this be his defining moment for the season. Still, it’s hard not to laugh.
