Sovereignty and Journalism on the track

Sovereignty on Saturday won the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby, but it’s the horse he beat that had everyone making jokes.

Sovereignty, which had 7-1 odds, beat Journalism, which had 3-1 odds. Folks all joked that Journalism the horse losing in the race was a metaphor for society and the status of journalism as an industry and profession.

Some others joked that this is reflective of the notion that journalism is a profession that doesn’t pay well.

you don't get into journalism to make money
