Joy Taylor is out at FS1, but may have a new job opportunity lined up quickly if she wants it.
Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas said on a recent livestream that he would be interested in hiring Taylor as part of his podcast network. Arenas praised Taylor’s hosting skills and said she would fit well on the football side of his business.
“Joy’s a great host,” Arenas said. “I know we’re looking at her for the football side. We’ve been behind the scenes talking for, like, the last year.”
Taylor is departing FS1 after over nine years with the network, as her contract will not be renewed. She had been co-host of “Speak” and was the original host of “Undisputed” when it launched in 2016. She had become a controversial figure in the last year, when a lawsuit alleged that she used sexual relationships with her FS1 bosses and colleague to advance her career.
The 38-year-old also recently launched her own show called “Two Personal,” which she uses to discuss topics well outside the sports scope.
Arenas has launched his own network, No Chill Productions, to produce a number of podcasts featuring himself and a number of other former athletes. The former NBA star is looking to expand his reach into other sports, and Taylor could be a big name to help him do just that.
